What is Vape Juice also known as E-Juice or E-Liquid?
Vape Juice is a mixture of natural and artificial flavouring ingredients, water, malic acid, with or without nicotine, usp propylene glycol and usp vegetable glycerin. When heated to a certain point, it turns into a vapor which is then inhaled into the mouth delivering the flavour, nicotine and throat hit similar to a tobacco cigarette.
What is Propylene Glycol?
Propylene Glycol is a viscous, colorless liquid that possesses a fainlty sweet taste. It is widely used in food processing, cosmetics and pharmacology. Not to be confused with ethylene glycol which can be toxic to humans, propylene glycol is recognized as safe by the FDA for consumption by humans. We use 100% pharmaceutical grade propylene glycol in all of our E-Liquid that contain it. Propylene Glycol also mimcs the throat hit you would get when smoking a tobacco cigarette and produces less vapour than vegetable glycerin. Some people are sensitive to propylene glycol and perfer a more vegetable glycerin based E-Liquid. We offer 85%VG and 100%VG as alternatives.
What is Vegetable Glycerin?
Vegetable Glycerin is similar to propylene glycol, although thicker in consistency and with a slightly sweeter taste. It is almost much smoother when inhaled. Also known as glycerol, vegetable glycerin is a clear odorless liquid produced from plant oils, typically palm oil, soy or coconut oils. It is used in many food and cosmetic products. When using vape juice with more vegetable glycerin than propylene glycol, you can expect to have a smoother vape experience with more vapor production. Rule of thumb is the more vegetable glycerin and less propylene glycol will give you less of a throat hit and a more smoother vape with more vapor. The more propylene glycol, the bigger the throat hit with adequate vapor production. Many users choose a more vegetable glycerin based liquid when they are sensitive to propylene glycol. When used on its own, vegetable glycerin is very thick and may make filling cartridges more complicated as the liquid does not easily absorb into the cotton.
What E-Liquid is right for me?
If you are just starting out and prefer to go with the cigalike electronic cigarette such as our KR808D model by Kanger, then you would be best to go with our 50% Vegetable Glycerin and 50% Propylene Glycol vape juices. They make metal cartridge filling much easier and provide a realistic throat hit similar to a traditional tobacco cigarette. The KR808 kit we carry is also available with T4S Clearomizers and with these you could go with an 85/15 blend of liquid with no issues as they are more easily filled.
If you find the throat hit too excessive or you find you are sensitive to propylene glycol, you can go with a more vegetable glycerin based e-liquid such as our 70/30, 75/25, 80/20, 85/15 and 100VG blends. Keep in mind metal cartridge filling in cigalike e-cigarettes will be more difficult, but definitely doable.
If you are using a sub-ohm device such as our Kanger TopBox Nano or DripBox by kanger, we recommend going with a low nicotine high VG vape juice. Sub-ohm devices burn hotter so the lower propylene glycol the better to make the throat hit experience less harsh.
If you are planning on purchasing or have purchased the EVOD EGO kit we carry from Kanger, it features a tank system which is easily fillable. Perhaps starting by using a 50/50 e-liquid and if all is good, stick with that. If the throat hit is too harsh, try the 85/15 liquid.
We also carry a 100%VG line of E-Juice which is made from 100% vegetable glycerin. This is made for people who are completely sensitive to propylene glycol. The vapor is huge and the taste is very smooth with very little throat hit at all.
