FAQ - Frequently Asked Question about E-Cigarettes

The following are frequently asked questions from our customers. They are intended to help you better understand electronic cigarettes as well as troubleshoot any issues you may be having.

What is an Electronic Cigarette?
An Electronic Cigarette is a device used to provider an alternate way to deliver nicotine to the user. It is not intended to help people quit smoking traditional cigarettes and i not intended to cure, diagnose, prevent or mitigate any disease or condition.

How does it work?
Electronic Cigarettes work by heating up a liquid that is found inside the cartridge (end you puff from) portion of the device. When you inhale, you activate the battery which sends power to the end LED light to turn on to simulate the ember of a real cigarette. The battery then also provides power to the cartridge which contains the atomizer (wick).

When the atomizer (wick) heats up, it activates the propylene glycol/vegetable glycerin to produce the vapor. A fog machine works the same way when you pour propylene glycol over a heated element and use a fan to blow it onto a theater stage.

When you inhale you take in the vapor which contains the nicotine and the it is then delivered to your system.

Who should not use an Electronic Cigarette?
Woman who are breast feeding, pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant should not use an electronic cigarette. Also people who have demonstrated an allergy or or sensitivity to nicotine or propylene glycol should not use electronic cigarettes. If you suffer from heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or asthma, you should check with your doctor prior to use electronic cigarettes.

How long should a battery charge?
A Battery will take approx 1-2 hours to charge. It is very important not to overcharge the battery as this will effect the overall battery life. When the charger indicates the battery has charged, be sure to remove it from the charger immediately.

How long does a cartridge last?
Alot of companies will say a cartridge will last the same as 1 pack of traditional cigarettes. Most times they say this, they are referring to american packs of 20. Still in our opinion this number is too high. We feel a cartridge will last for approx 100 puffs with 10 puffs being the equivalent to 1 traditional cigarette. When the flavor is not there anymore and the vapor is not visible enough, then its time to change your cartridge.

How does one refill a empty/blank cartridge?
There are 3 ways to fill or refill an empty cartridge. If you are refilling, it is best to take off the plastic end piece and boil the cartridge in water for approx 5 minutes and then place on a piece of paper towel with the end that you puff from facing down (do not attach the white plastic end piece). Let it sit overnight to fully dry before refilling the cartridge.

3 ways to fill or refill an empty cartridge:

  • First way is to use the dropper bottle and apply 35 drops around the center wick hole. Make sure that you have removed the white plastic end piece and also make sure that the clear rubber end cap with the long center rubber point is placed on the end of the cartridge that connects to the battery and the rubber point is actually being inserted into the cartridge (this will stop any liquid from leaking out the bottom of the cartridge). Once all drops have been applied, let cartridge sit for 10 minutes. The longer you let it sit, the better the smoking experience will be.
  • The second way is to use a blunt tip syringe and fill the syringe with 0.8ml of liquid which is approx 35 drops. Again make sure the white end plastic is removed and that the clear rubber end cap with the long center rubber point is placed on the end of the cartridge that connects to the battery and the rubber point is actually being inserted into the cartridge. Insert the blunt tip of the syringe into the cotton in 3 positions  around the wick hole and each time it is inserted release about 1/3 of the liquid. Once all liquid has been released, let cartridge sit for 10 minutes. The longer you let it sit, the better the smoking experience will be.
  • The third way to fill a cartridge and in our opinion is the best way is again make sure the white end plastic is removed. Now next step is to take the clear rubber end cap without the long center rubber point (this is the rubber end cap that would be attached to the end of the cartridge you puff from) and use your dropper bottle and drip 35 drops into this rubber cap (cap should be almost full). After you have done this, simply take your empty dry cartridge and push it very slowly into the cap. You will notice the liquid fills the cartridge evenly and some liquid comes up the center wick (this is ok). After you have fully pushed the cartridge into the cap, you can then pull the cap off and wipe off any excess liquid on the cartridge itself. Wash your hands thoroughly and let cartridge sit for 10 minutes. The longer you let it sit, the better the smoking experience will be.
Note: You an also refill cartomizers when you are on the move, by dropping 2-3 drops of liquid into the metal hole in the cartomizer (the end that connects to the battery).

Make sure you let it drain into the cart to prevent the liquid leaking in to an automatic battery and clogging it. Yon can ensure the liquid is fully inserted into the cartomizer by taking a small draw on the cart to pull the liquid fully into the cartomizer.

If any liquid comes in contact with your skin, quickly wash with soap and water.

Remember to always keep liquid and cartridges away from children or pets as nicotine can be dangerous if ingested.

Cleaning a cartridge
The very best way to clean your cartridges would be to remove the white plastic end piece and place the cartridge in a pot of boiling water for about 5 mins. After remove the cartridge and let it sit overnight until it is completely dry before refilling.

Puffing is difficult, ECV92 is clogged
With serious use, you may notice that puffing on your ECV92 becomes more difficult. The issue may be the battery.

If you look closely at the battery end that connects to the cartridge, you may notice some "grime" (green, dark grey grime) on the ring inside. Make sure to clean this out using a small scrub brush or a q-tip.

Also make sure the holes at the bottom of the thread are clear of any grime by using a small brush. Keeping the holes clear and the inside ring clean will assure you of proper functionality.

Again, make sure not to put any liquid inside the middle wick hole in the cartridge to avoid liquid dripping directly into the battery.

Portable Charging Case (Black Case style)
To operate the portable charging case, it is best to first charge it for 3-5 hours prior to initial use. When the light turns green it is ready to charge your batteries. After the charging case loses power, you should again charge it for 3-5 hours until you see the green light.

When you attach your battery to the charger, the LED at the tip of the electronic cigarette will turn on indicating it is properly connected and has begun the charging process.

When the battery has completed charging, the LED at the tip of the electronic cigarette will go off indicating the charging process is complete and you may now remove the battery from the charger.
